I did the copper workshop with Vibol and Haystome. I loved it so much I went twice! There are so many reasons why the experience with Haystome is so special, their team is helpful and friendly, the classes are intimate, the craft is interesting and you couldn’t get this experience any other way. The best thing about it is meeting the artist, Vibol is so passionate about copper carving and keeping this traditional skill alive. Plus, the Haystome team were on hand to translate. Highly recommend and makes a great gift for someone!

Meet the Artisan

“Hello hello, I am Bopha. I make silver arts. I welcome you to my workshop.”

Bopha is an artisan who is enthusiastic with her arts and sharing. She has been doing this for over 40 years. She is making a jewelry with traditional art. This is a family business which is passed down both the skills and business to her by her parents. She was learning about the silver crafting since she was a kid. With more knowledge, she formed a community which is full of talented silversmith to operate her shop. Bopha is a kind woman. When she was around 30 years old, she used to work for other NGOs to share her arts to children who are passionate. Years later, she realized her passion and she started recruiting her village kids to learn with her for free. Some kids, she even provided them home and some cash so those kids can go to school. She is a mother to all of them. Now, she has been welcoming not only children, but both national and international guests as well.
